District 4: Paru-paro Festival
Paru-paro festival
The city of Dasmariñas has undergone changes. From historically being a part of Imus to a municipality in 1864 and finally, declared as an independent city , on Nov 26, 2009, through out the years has metomorphisized into it's final form. The city's unique changes and growth reflect the life cycle of a butterfly. Thus the Paru-paro festival shows homage to their roots and continues to strive in giving the message of continuesly changing and basking new opportunities.
Street dance and Float parade
The festival holds street dances with particpants from different schools and divisions. They're divided into 3 categories; Elementary, Secondary and Open. When the sun goes down, the colorful lights and wonderful floats light up the area. They are funded by different companies in Dasma city to showcase the growth and unity they hold for the significance of the event.
Pagent
Finally, they hold a pagent for Binibining Dasma. Where beautiful ladies showcase their aesthetics and wisdom through out the competition. This is held along with a week long Bazaar and food fair with local delicacies.
