Originally part of Lumampong, a barrio of Indang, Cavite, Alfonso became a separate municipality in 1859 after a petition spearheaded by community leaders Bonifacio Aveo and Felix Del Mundo. From historically being a part of Imus to a municipality in 1864 and finally, declared as an independent city , on Nov 26, 2009, through out the years has metomorphisized into it's final form. District 1: Regada Water Festival

   Regada Water Festival  Regada water festival's name came from the spanish word " Regar " which meant to pour. The people in cavite use Chavacano which is a " Tagalized-Spanish ". To which the meaning of what the Regada water festival celebrates is the fiesta of St. John, as according to the new testament, was the one to baptize Jesus in the river of Jordan. Where water is a constant feature that was also the main feature in the festival. It is the symbol of baptism. The very first celebration of this festival was in 1996, Cavite City.
